How to Make Green Juice in a Blender
Learn how to make a nutritious and refreshing green juice in your blender. No fancy juicing equipment needed!
Green juice used to be all the rage about a decade ago. Does anyone else remember when juicers were super popular? I was a big fan of juicing in my early days as a nutritionist. Even before then, I was pretty swept up in the raw food movement. It was during that time that I bought myself a juicer, although I've since parted with it (and raw foodism!).
Today I want to share a really easy green juice recipe that you can make without a juicer. All you need is a blender! You will also need a cheese cloth or nut milk bag for straining, but I promise it's so very easy.
What is Green Juice?
Green juice is simply the juice of various veggies and fruits combined, giving it a bright green colour and offering plenty of nutrients. Green juice is a fun and refreshing way to get some veggies into your diet.
Store-bought green juices can be expensive. This fresh, nutritious homemade green juice can be made for much less.
What About Fibre?
Fibre is essential to our health and offers countless benefits. As long as we’re getting sufficient fibre in our diets from other sources through the day, juice can absolutely still be enjoyed! This recipe is nutritious and delightful in the spring or summer over ice.
If you're interested in a refreshing drink but still wants the benefits of fibre, opt for a smoothie instead.

Blender Green Juice
A refreshing green juice recipe made in a blender.
Ingredients
1/2 cucumber
2 stalks celery
2 green apples
handful baby spinach or 1-2 kale leaves
1-inch chunk fresh ginger, peeled
a few fresh mint leaves
2 cups water or coconut water
1 cup pineapple (optional but a great addition)
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth, about 1 minute or so.
Place your nut milk bag or cheesecloth over a large bowl and pour blender contents through the mesh.
Gather the bag and squeeze tightly until all juice has come out and only pulp remains in the bag.
Transfer juice to glasses and enjoy as-is or over ice!
*Pulp can be saved and added to smoothies, soups, or composted.
Notes
Store juice in jars with tight-fitting lids for up to 3 days, or freeze for a few months and simply thaw when ready to consume.
