Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie
This Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie is the real deal. Enjoy for breakfast or as a snack when you're in the mood for that PB+J combo.
If you're a fan of PB+J, then you're going to love this smoothie. It genuinely tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
I've been working on some low sugar smoothies over the past week, and this one might possibly be my favourite! The recipe is super simple: all you need is peanut butter, frozen berries, banana and almond milk. I also toss in some hemp seeds for good measure. It's a great way to up your intake of plant-based protein (along with the peanut butter!) In fact, this smoothie contains just 12g of sugar and about 12g of protein.
How to Make a Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie
For this smoothie you'll need:
frozen strawberries and raspberries
half a banana
unsweetened natural peanut butter (or sub almond butter)
almond milk (or your favourite choice of milk)
That's it! The combo of peanut butter + sweet and tart berries creates the most PB+J flavour of all time. It's so good. I'm also a sucker for really creamy, smooth smoothies and this recipe is just that. There's something about nut butter that always helps to make a smoothie extra rich and delicious.
Can you use almond butter instead?
Yep! You totally can. If you're allergic to peanuts or you just don't love 'em, feel free to use an unsweetened almond butter (or even another kind of nut butter like cashew) instead. Just keep in mind that it won't taste like PB+J, of course.
